What is chair massage?
Chair massage is a convenient, quick and inexpensive way to enjoy the benefits of massage. While you relax in a specially designed chair, a professional massage practitioner will massage your back, shoulders, neck, head and arms. In as little as ten minutes, you can return to your day feeling looser, refreshed and relaxed. Extra-stressed or have more time to spare? You can choose up to 30 minutes or more for the ultimate drop-in relaxation break.
Do I have to undress?
No, chair massage is done while you are fully clothed. There is no oil or lotion involved. You don’t even take off your shoes. We think full-body massages are great, but chair massage saves the hassle and embarrassment of getting undressed, and quickly gets you back to your day and ready to go. Even during your busiest days – maybe especially on your busiest days – it’s worth it to find time for a chair massage.
How do you choose your practitioners?
Before they massage you, they massage us. We “audition” each practitioner, and our standards are high. We look for people who are as enthusiastic about the benefits of chair massage as we are, and who share our standards for customer service. In addition, they are certified in the State of California and fully insured.
Can chair massage help my bad back or health problem?
Massage can be very beneficial for many health issues, but chair massage is not designed to be therapeutic in nature. Rather, it’s designed to be soothing and help work the kinks out of your muscles. If you have an injury or any health issues, make sure to tell the massage practitioner so they can work appropriately with that area. We want you to feel better when you’re done. And if you want to make a private therapeutic appointment with a massage therapist, let us know.

Can I get a full-body massage from On the Spot Massage?
Sorry, On the Spot only offers chair massage. But almost all of our practitioners also have private practices, and would be happy to schedule a full-body massage for you at their own location. Just ask. Or send us an email or give us a call, and we can refer you directly to one of our great people.
Do you make house calls?
Not exactly house calls, but we do go to offices and workplaces in the Bay Area. If you would like more information about having On the Spot Maasage come to your workplace – for a special event, or a regular thing – learn more about it here.
Will you come set up at my party?
Yes, we have set up chair massage at private parties, bridal showers, workshops, and customer appreciation parties. Let us know what you have in mind.
Am I supposed to tip the massage practitioner?
That’s entirely up to you. If you think your massage was worth more than it cost, feel free to give your massage person a little extra. And if you don’t, we won’t complain – it’s enough pleasure to be part of making your day a
good one.
Do you have gift certificates?
